Tasmania 70.3 - 5th February

Notable Men: Braden Currie, Josh Amberger, Tim van Berkel and Jake Birtwhistle

Notable Women: Ellie Salthouse, Grace Thek, Ai Ueda

Social Stalk

Talented Age-grouper Ashley Hankamp - mother of four and school teacher. What made this post stand out was "I'll have more time when the kids are older". I've been hoping this is true but have a look at the post for some real talk. Time to bury some of my excuses and get my "stuff" done. Link to her profile here

It doesn't get easier

YouTube

  • Innerunner: Stupid question but does your body need to move during a Triathlon? Of course it does! Let Lawrence van Lingen teach you how to use your body for sports performance...and for life. Paula Findlay describes him as "MAGIC!" This is the first video of a must watch series:

  • PTO has a great little documentary about the rise of Gustav Iden. He seems to just get the fine line between arrogance and confidence right. How's the photo of the Norwegian Hype train as youngsters?

Potential energy

  • Sam Laidlow has just started his Youtube channel. This first video is a good eye-opener as to how meticulous the "bad boy" of triathlon is as well as how affectionate him and his father are. Not surprising when considering his up-bringing but still cool to see. I'm very interested to see where he goes in 2023 after smashing his Kona debut last year.

Tri Toys

  • Garmin 965: The latest top of the range Tri watch from Garmin could have a successor in February. Anticipated upgrade could be a fancy new screen like the Epix 2. The screen is great but expect a significant knock on battery life.

  • Shokz Openrun vs JLab Open Sport: I've been VERY close to buying some open ear headphones to exercise with. The front-runner have always been the Shokz OpenRun Pro. Raymond Kisswany (insta here) has a personal recommendation of the JLab Open Sport as a better option than the Shokz. Click to have a look.

Tri AI

Show me a retired triathlete lounging in his pajamas:

Slightly morose...but cool pj's

Tri Meme's

Here are the meme's for this week. Check out my instagram for context:

Consider me guilty of this

That's it for today, now finish your oats and get back to training!
