    • Men 1) Nicolas Mann, 2) Niek Heldoorn, 3) Jordi Montraveta

  • Race titbits: West’s run pace was 3:10/km, Haug’s run pace was 3:29/km. Haug was only 3 seconds slower than Findlay on the bike. Ditlev unintentionally paced Blummenfelt to the front group, let the group get small gap leading up to a hill, then dropped him and Frodeno up the hill to rejoin the front. Neumann referred to focusing on basics and “no science bullsh!t”. Lionel Sanders training partner, Foley, had a faster BIKE than Long…he’s already an uber-runner. Sanders dropped a chain. Worth watching the 10min PTO race breakdown by The Daily Tri here

  • Athletes “under-performing”: Sodaro (DNF after swim), Chevalier (23rd after poor swim/bike), Matthews (DNF after a hectic few weeks racing), Astle (fastest bike but injured calf forced DNF), Skipper (22nd afterpoor day all around), Ryf (DNF on run).

  • Tri Couples weekend: “Love birds” were a flutter in Ibiza. Marjolaine Pierre and Clement Mignon won the male and female Long Distance World Champs. It was also the first time I saw Ali Brownlee and Ruth Astle together after a few months of speculating. Josh Amberger and Ash Gentle were also racing. Who did I miss? Quietly waiting for Jonny Brownlee to ask Beth Potter out (are they even both single?).

  • Training Priority: Alan Couzens gave some sage advice on twitter here:

  • PTO Points update: I had planned to run some calcs and update the top 100 PTO rankings but my father’s 80th, my spouse running 56km and my 2yr old toddler had other plans. Let me know if you want the updates and I will send them!

That's it for today, now finish your oats and get back to training! If you have any feedback or suggestions, please reply and let me know!

Yours in low CdA,

Aero MaccaFrodownlee
