  • 70.3 Chattanooga results:

    • Women 1) Paula Findlay, 2) Danielle Lewis, 3) Jeanni Metzler

  • Race titbits: Lanzarote: Laidlow had a “Rapid Unscheduled Disassembly” while leading halfway onto the run stating heatstroke as the issue, he had put 5min into Wurf half-way into the bike so maybe overbiked? Wurf came 3rd so STILL hasn’t qualified for Nice. Aix-en-Provence: Pallant-Browne started the run in 2nd and 4m13s in front of Jewett - this was cut down to 50s at the line. Kraichgau: LCB lost over 4min with a mechanical, she started the run almost 3min down and came within 43s of Philipp to come 2nd. St Polten: Kienle DNF’d after getting yet another drafting penalty. Samorin: With such a stacked field there were some underperformers: Byram 6th, Langridge 7th and Pierre who won in Ibiza came in 10th. Hanson 19th, Varga DNF and Mignon DNF. Chattanooga: Findlay beat Metzler by almost 6min, so maybe she will have gotten more points winning St.George than coming 5th at Ibiza? True came 4th with the 2nd fastest run.

  • Foley on aero benefits: Trevor Foley is Lionel’s training partner and is a rising star having recently came 2nd at 70.3 St Georges and 5th at 70.3 Gulf Coast. The Daily Tri has a down to earth conversation with him. Biggest takeaway for me was him speaking about how important bike position is and how it basically took him to the next level in the sport. Spurred on by there being 7 South Africans ranked in the PTO top 100, I did some “country” analysis on both the PTO and World Triathlon top 100 rankings by bringing in GDP and Population data. Let me know if anyone has any questions or would like any similar analysis done that I can look into:

That's it for today, now finish your oats and get back to training! If you have any feedback or suggestions, please reply and let me know!
